GCN Update

Surprisingly, GCN is still providing shows to its stations as of this morning.  The apparent closure of the network may have been postponed or stopped due to a change in plans from the ownership of the company.  We will continue to air GCN shows until we receive word what their plans are for the network.

Schedule Changes

With the closing of our main network for talk shows and news, we are now working on obtaining new shows and also hope to carry some of the former shows aired by GCN once they find a new home for syndication.

We hope we can fill out the schedule with talk and news shows by July.  If we are unable to secure enough new shows, KFMD will start to air a music format and also continue to carry the existing talk shows that now air on the station.

Genesis Communications Shutting Down

KFMD's primary resource for talk shows has announced effective May 5, they will cease operations and no longer provide talk shows to its numerous affiliates around the country.  

We are presently looking at finding replacement shows for the shows we are going to lose but it appears we will not be able to air a full 24 hour schedule for the foreseeable future after May 4.

KFMD may operate at reduced hours or temporarily suspend operations until a fulll schedule of shows can be put in place.  It may take weeks or months before that happens.  Check back for details in the weeks ahead.
