KFMD is a new radio station serving the Fort Madison, Iowa area with an independent and predominantly Conservative news and talk format.   Currently you can listen to the live stream of the station by clicking on the Live Logo in the top right corner of the site.

Many of the shows you will hear on KFMD are from smaller radio networks that have fewer affliates than the larger networks.  Despite this these networks offer high quality shows that otherwise are not heard in most radio markets in the country.  

In the future, we plan to develop a couple of local talk shows and also provide a local/regional newscast, local weather forecasts and sports reports as a public service to the Fort Madison area.  Providing local content will help showcase Fort Madison to the rest of the country when they tune into our live internet stream.

By the Summer of 2024 we will launch the over the air signal on the frequency AM 1580.  The broadcast radius will be limited to Fort Madison only due to FCC regulations that govern legal, unlicensed broadcasting on the broadcast dial.  You can learn more about the technical side of this station in the Technical Information page.  

We are developing a simple and easy to use website that should display well in any web browser and won't be heavy in graphics that can bog down older cell phones or computers by our visitors.

This website will be updated periodically as needed.  Additional additions and deletions to site content will be more frequent after KFMD resumes over the air broadcasting which will entail more schedule changes or program additions to best serve our listening audience.
